Merit Day 2026 was celebrated on 03/02/2026 at Don Bosco College, Kottiyam, with great pride and enthusiasm, honouring the outstanding academic and co-curricular achievements of students during the academic year.
The celebration commenced with a Prayer Song by Ms. Abhirami L S, Student Representative, invoking divine blessings. The gathering was welcomed by Fr. Dr. Boby John, Director, followed by a Video Presentation of the Annual Report showcasing the major milestones and accomplishments of the institution. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Y Joy, Principal, who appreciated the dedication and hard work of students and faculty members.
A proud moment of the event was the Felicitation of PhD Thesis Submitters, recognizing research scholars for their academic contributions. The gathering was further enriched by the inspiring Message from the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Jose Koyickal SDB, Provincial, who encouraged students to pursue excellence with commitment, discipline, and integrity.
The programme also included the felicitation of Class Toppers and A Grade Holders in recognition of their outstanding academic performance. The dedicated services of the NSS Programme Officer and NCC Programme Officer were specially acknowledged for their commitment to student development and community engagement. A felicitation address was delivered by Mr. Raju Nandanam, PTA Vice President, appreciating the achievements of the students and the efforts of the institution. The event further featured the distribution of various prizes to students who excelled in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities, adding to the spirit of celebration and accomplishment.
A significant highlight of the day was the Distribution of Work and Study Scholarships to deserving students. This initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to inclusive education, enabling students to continue their studies with financial assistance while engaging in part-time campus work that fosters responsibility and self-reliance.
The event also marked the Inauguration of the Rubberized Indoor Badminton Court, strengthening the college’s sports infrastructure and promoting holistic development.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Mr. Anasmon S, IQAC Coordinator, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, students, and organizers who contributed to the success of Merit Day 2026.
