In line with the directives of the UGC, the Anti-Ragging Cell of Don Bosco College, Kottiyam observed Anti-Ragging Day on 12th August 2025 to create awareness among students regarding the harmful effects of ragging and to promote a culture of respect, harmony, and safety on campus. The programme began at 9:30 a.m. in the College Auditorium with a series of sessions aimed at educating and engaging the student community on the importance of maintaining a ragging-free campus. Mr. Ajay Joseph Chacko, Convenor, anti-ragging Cell, warmly welcomed the gathering. Dr. Y. Joy, Principal, Don Bosco College, Kottiyam delivered the Presidential Address, highlighting the college’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. The event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Boby John, Director, Don Bosco College, Kottiyam. This was followed by a detailed awareness session led by Ms. Lekshmi G.S., Assistant Professor, Department of English, Don Bosco College, Kottiyam. As a symbolic and powerful conclusion to the awareness session, Ms. Theertha C.R. led the gathering in taking the Anti-Ragging Pledge, wherein all students, faculty members, and staff solemnly vowed to uphold the dignity and rights of every individual on campus. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Archith M.P., Member, Ant-ragging squad.
