Don Bosco College, Kottiyam, celebrated Onam on 19 August 2026 with a vibrant and colourful programme that brought together students and the college community in the spirit of Kerala’s traditional festival. The celebrations began with a Pookkalam Competition at followed by the judging of the Athapookalam competition
The Cultural Programme commenced in the auditorium with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The programme included an Onappattu by the Music Club, a dance performance by the Dance Club, the Arm Wrestling Final, and departmental programmes.
The celebrations continued with a colourful procession featuring the entry of Maveli, Thambola, Pookkavadi and Bomma.Traditional and fun-filled activities followed, including the Vadamvali and Uriyadi at creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and togetherness among the students. A Percussion Treat further added to the festive spirit.
The celebration concluded with the Winding-up Ceremony and Prize Distribution followed by a buffer period.
